Sunset on Beach

Guilt. Disappointment. Hurt. Shattered dreams. Hopelessness.

Have you ever felt like you lost focus? Your mind seems to be consumed with a million things, you feel overwhelmed, and you just can’t grab hold of peace. The current state of your life is full of hurts and continuous disappointments. Life has left your broken.

Your once consistent prayer life, church attendance, and scripture reading are minimum or non-existent.

Sometimes life circumstances can cause us to become distant from

God. We feel as though God has forgotten us, and the moments when we thought we trusted him, we concluded He let us down. Now, it appears to us that we are alone, and we’re fighting for a small glimpse of hope in the horizon.

Our once strengthen faith has now merely become a past lifestyle, no longer a continuous journey toward drawing near to God.

Check Your Pulse Moment: In moments of brokenness, we have a choice. A choice between allowing brokenness to keep us imprisoned, or a choice to allow God to take the broken pieces and make them whole.

Yet, how does one come to a broken moment? It’s in the broken moments of our life, that we must come to a place where we no longer want to settle for mediocrity, but surrender our brokenness to God.

I’m reminded of the woman in the Bible with the issue of blood. This woman whose name was never mentioned, who was never given an entire book in the Bible, yet was commended for her faith, came to a moment of brokenness.

She suffered from this issue of blood for 12 years, and sought medical help, but still no hope. No one could heal her. No one could stop the flow of blood, draining from her body.

Yet, she heard that Jesus was in town. She had tried everything, yet her current condition still haunted her, but in the midst of sickness, she realized her only hope of rising out of brokenness, was through Jesus Christ.

She fought her way through the crowd. I can only imagine that she looked weary, had her arm wrapped around her stomach due to the pain, and was trying to catch her breath as she rushed down the dirt road, to make her way to him.

That was her last hope. That was her chance to no longer be broken in sickness.

She came to a moment of brokenness. She reached out for hope, she touched him, and was made whole.

“And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.”

Luke 8:43-47 KJV

There is hope for wholeness in your brokenness!!

God gives us a clear promise in his word: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”

Psalms 34:18 NLT

God is near, and he is waiting for you to come to him, that he may restore and heal your broken heart.

Now, I want you to me a favor. After you close out this post, find a quiet place to go before the Lord. Even if you can’t gather the words to speak what you feel, God understands your tears. He hears. He knows. Relinquish control, and allow him to mend the broken pieces to him.

You are not meant to stay in a broken state! God is waiting for you to come to him!
